SUSTAINABILITY

While we know that we can’t solve all problems…. we can try to do everything we can to help protect our environment. Real Estate signs, while important, have a limited shelf-life and once they have served their purpose, they are discarded into our landfill.

Did you know that corflute (polypropylene) which is what traditional real estate signs are made of is not recyclable so it just sits and accumulates in our landfills & pollutes the environment.

about

polypropylene

Polypropylene doesn’t biodegrade furthermore when exposed to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight it will photodegrade meaning the polypropylene polymer chains become brittle and start to crack. This suggests that eventually the signs may become fragmented granules. As of yet, however, scientists aren’t sure how many centuries it takes for the sun to work its magic. That’s why certain news sources suggest a  500-year estimate while others prefer a more conservative 1,000-year lifespan of these corflute signs , either way it is a very very long time.
